The first chapter of Uno sta a Uno, a series of dialogues-in-images between artists who have chosen different means of expression for the same expressive needs.
For each appointment, two works will be displayed in the “showcase” of Alchimia, the project’s promoter in collaboration with Galleria Antonella Villanova.
“When the shock of postmodernism hit the art world in the 1980s, Manfred Bischoff and Rainer Fetting were just beginning their artistic careers. In Germany at the time, Bischoff was focusing on jewelry, and Fetting on painting. For both, it was a return to traditional forms of expression, but with a very contemporary spirit. For both artists, the reprise of figurative art involves images that are both spare and tactile, and emotional, as only figures created in gold and in intense color can be. Bischoff’s wearable sculptures and Fetting’s canvases are populated by dynamic figures, with some unexpectedly common traits, expressions of a shared atypical outlook.”
A thank-you to Marco Bazzini for his help with choosing the artists for these dialogues.
