“Les Otres”
By Sarah Ordóñez
We´ve been filed over and over again, to give us shape. To make us fit into a mold. A molde we haven’t chosen it is imposed We’ve been told how to speak, what to say and when to shut up. How we should dress. How to look to please. What should matter to us and what shouldn’t. They call us overdone, when we express ourselves, when we shout our aches. They want us to feel disposable. But we resist. We are not one, or two or three. We are many recognizing our differences, finding ourselves to accompany each other. To break the molds. And be who we are. The moth bothers, is not beautiful enough, or pleasant enough. With her clumsy flying, her dull colors and her way of being she is not welcome. She is unwelcomed becouse of everything she is not. The swarm of moths becomes a multitude of minorities. The stories of the “others” The dissidents by choice or by nature. Accompanying each other. I want them to be your companion.
