This course aims to introduce a wide range of mixed metal techniques and process as well as introducing appropriate methods of using the resulting materials. The production of silver solders which is needed for a variety of different solder applications will be covered in the course, as well as the production of a range of alloys to introduce into the work. There will be opportunity to experiment with the taught techniques in order to engage with the process in a rich and personal way. Attention will be paid to the design process seeing how the materials we work with lend themselves to different applications with the option of making a simple piece of jewellery by the end of the course.
