Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School presents ‘INTERACTIONS’, a group exhibition opening on Friday July 21, 2017 at 19:00.
The exhibition showcases the work of 12 international graduates of Alchimia’s BFA program.
Through focusing on a variety of topics, a series of work has been realized for each student. During the creative process, the students have put themselves in-between the subject and inspiration. Moreover, attention to detail behind the craftsmanship and technique for every individual piece is given the same importance as the conceptual side of it. This leads to an interaction between the maker, viewer, and the piece itself…
Narratives dealing with memory, cultural references, and identity speak in the work of Cosima Rohden, Vicktoria Matsuka, Weng-Ian Lai, and Lisiane Hilário; whereas Sophia Taul and Ginevra Montoschi explore and interpret historical subject matter.
Roberta Consalvo Sances, Elisa Cazzaniga, and Ying-Chu Shih express personal emotional perspectives; while Kristin Leigh Knoll and Maria Luisa Quartin start a dialogue between the wearer and viewer in terms of analyzing the relationship between jewelry and the body.
Meanwhile, Fu-Yu Tsai listens.
During the opening night food and cocktails will be served in celebration of a successful year.
On Saturday July 22, and Sunday July 23 the exhibition will be open from 17:00 to 20:00.
